the Standard Longhair Dachshunds!
We began with two Standard Longhair beauties…littermate sisters, Torie (MCS Rockin’ M’s Carrying The Torch SL) and Katniss (MCS Rockin’ M’s Girl On Fire, SL)
These adult females were each bred twice. In the first matings, they were each bred to our Champion Flynn (CH. MCS In Like Flynn @ Von Wolff, ML). Flynn is a bred-down Miniature with important common ancestors to Torie and Kat.
In these first breedings, Flynn and Torie’s daughter, Roxanne, was kept. Flynn and Katniss’ daughter, Adele, was kept.
In their second breedings, Torie was bred to our Shaded Cream Miniature dog, Welli. ( Von Wolff’s All’s Well In Wellington, MLC ), and LeeAnn was kept from this breeding. Katniss was bred to our Champion Zuli. Zuli is a Black and Cream Dapple Miniature dog. Their son, Abednego, was kept.
Torie and Katniss have retired now, and the Standard breeding program will go forward with the four offspring. You can see photos of them on the pages dedicated to each of them, here.
Flynn and Torie’s daughter, Roxanne, became an AKC Champion…and was then bred to a friends’ GCH. Standard male. A singleton daughter was produced. That is my Sensay. She is the first of the 2nd generation bred here at VWK.
Roxanne was then bred to Abednego. Those 5 puppies are growing babies. At 10-12 weeks, they will be evaluated for show potential or as companions. A couple may be going into other show homes where they will advance the VWK lines in other directions. So exciting!
During 2020, a small Standard female with import bloodlines became available to VWK. Her name is Jinx. Jinx was here to be bred to Abednego, and ended up just staying on! Abe and Jinx’ son, Striker, is the 2nd of the 2nd generation Standards born here. He will provide an outcross bloodline for breeding to the daughters of Torie and Katniss.
